North Carolina Central University Career Services was pleased to receive a $10,000 grant from Wells Fargo to support students in internships and career opportunities. Since then, the Wells Fargo Internship Stipend Fund was created to encourage NCCU students to accept quality unpaid internships. Although most internships are unpaid, these opportunities still help to foster career exploration and build upon academic studies. Therefore, the stipend fund was designed to alleviate some of the finacial burden associated with unpaid internships.
A commitee of Career Services staff, faculty, and administrators was assembled to review over 60 student applications. After a very intense process, the commitee was able to award stipends to 9 students completing internships locally, nationally, and internationally.
We are happy to congratulate the following students:
Christina Carter, Darryl Hacket, Tiffany Jones, London Germ, Shaquanna Lee, Jonathan Stilo, Roberto Vargas, Candace Thorpe, and Kendance Willis!
