Persons not seeking a degree but desiring to take a limited number of courses work may be admitted as unclassified, non-degree seeking students.
Special/unclassified undergraduate students may take no more than 12 semester hours of course work. At that point they must apply for and be admitted to a degree program before they will be allowed to continue their education at NCCU. Note: The hours completed as a special student will not be used to evaluate your admissions status.
The academic rank of special/unclassified students and their progress toward their selected degree will be determined after they are accepted for full admission. To become a special student at North Carolina Central University, you must submit an application, pay the $40 application fee and complete a Confidential Statement form from all previous higher education institutions.
