Greeting Eagles,
Spring break is finished, and we are only seven weeks away from the end of the semester. This is a perfect time to invest more time in academics while staying involved at the Nest. Today’s message is encouraging you to stay on pace for graduation, keep growing, and take breaks.
Push Towards Graduation
We encourage all students to reach:
-
30 earned credit hours after their first year
-
60 earned credit hours after their second year
-
90 earned hours after their third year to be on pace to "Soar in Four."
One way to catch up or get ahead is through Summer Session courses. Summer Session registration is available now.
Fall registration is also now available. Talk to your academic advisor for more information.
Keep Growing
James Joyce said, “Errors are portals to discovery,” and mistakes happen. Growing from those mistakes towards resilience is key to success. Keep committed to your academics and speak with your faculty members. University College is cheering you on!
Take Breaks
Wellness is important to your growth as a college student. Taking breaks, enjoying the warm weather, and exercising can help with high stress levels. RecWell (the Department of Recreation and Wellness) and the Counseling Center offer ways of improving wellness.
University College Employee of the Month
Betty Dixon, Examination Proctor
Ms. Dixon works in the Testing Center for University College and deserves recognition. As an examination proctor, Ms. Dixon meets with NCCU students and community members to welcome individuals, help them find the proper testing lab, and explain protocols for testing. She works diligently to help anyone who enters the Testing Center. Within the last month, she was given high praise by a vendor for her work assisting students as they were taking an exam. She exhibited excellent customer service. We applaud Ms. Dixon for helping our students and community members soar!
