Academic Success and Enrichment Services

Interim Associate Dean William Moultrie

We are delighted to welcome you to the University College’s Academic Success and Enrichment Services Department at North Carolina Central University. Through our quality Academic Counseling Services, Aspiring Eagles Academy, Eagle TALONS Series, Lyceum Series, Supplemental Instruction Program and Tutorial Services we aim to work with students to cultivate and enhance their academic performance as they transition and matriculate through the University. With a focus on ensuring student success, we are committed to revolutionizing the study culture at North Carolina Central University by preparing our students to meet the academic rigor of the University through innovative and intentional best practices.

Academic Success and Enrichment Services Department prepares students for lifelong learning and is ready for the challenge! Our programs and services are designed to instill a sense of academic pride and responsibility within each of our students. The ultimate goal is satisfactory progression towards graduation from North Carolina Central University within four years.

Academic Success and Enrichment Services Department utilizes an intrusive hands-on approach which focuses on the improvement of student academic skills and the enhancement of student performance through student engagement sessions on test-taking skills, stress management, time management, how-to-study programs and related topics. Our holistic approach encourages students to identify roadblocks; set realistic, attainable and personally fulfilling academic goals; and take ownership of their learning.

Through various departmental initiatives, we encourage students to engage in curricular and co-curricular experiences that further their academic and career goals. Our programs are designed to aid students in excelling in their academic performance, especially (but not exclusively) in courses and subjects with traditionally high failure rates.

All students have great potential, but creating a campus environment that supports their intellectual growth, social development, health, and well-being will ensure their success! I hope you will find our website informative and user friendly. We welcome your comments, inquiries and encourage you to visit. We are located on the lower level of the Alexander-Dunn Building.

–Dr. William R. Moultrie, Interim Associate Dean
