Forty Under Forty Class of 2020 Alumni Awardees Announced

Posted July 02, 2020, 3:17PM

The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Office of Alumni Relations has chosen its 2020 class of Forty Under Forty, which recognizes outstanding young alumni who are making a significant impact.

Chosen by a committee of their peers, the honorees are all under age 40 and have made contributions to the arts, law, entertainment, healthcare, sciences, U.S. military, education, business, philanthropy and public service.

“The Forty Under Forty Awards Program is a great opportunity to recognize standout young alumni making significant strides in their careers and also the community,” said Susan L. Hester, interim vice chancellor for the Division of Institutional Advancement at NCCU.

The awards were created to recognize the next generation of NCCU alumni who are making a difference in the world. They represent approximately one-third of the university’s under-40 alumni and a valuable percentage of new NCCU donors.

“As NCCU continues to produce change agents, initiatives such as the Forty Under Forty awards program is an opportunity to celebrate young trailblazers, as well as encourage developing future leaders,” said LaMisa McCoy Foxx, assistant vice chancellor for NCCU Alumni Relations.

The selection committee was comprised of NCCU alumni, administrators and industry leaders. A virtual event to honor and recognize the 40 Under 40 class of 2020 will be announced soon.
