NCCU Launches Virtual Tour Showcasing Campus

North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) campus will become a part of virtual reality. NCCU has partnered with YouVisit, LLC, to build a complete walking tour with 18 stops on the institution’s scenic campus, giving prospective students’ unlimited opportunities to visit the university online.

Prospective students, as well as their families and guidance counselors, can now explore NCCU’s academic and living and learning communities at their own convenience via virtual reality. The tour also allows visitors to take further action to inquire or apply to NCCU.

“NCCU has a picturesque campus as we are well known for our ‘rolling hills and verdant green,’ several historic structures, other state-of-the-art research institutes, green spaces and two eco-friendly, energy-efficient buildings,” said Chancellor Debra Saunders-White. “We expect the new virtual tour to cultivate widespread interest as even more prospective students around the country and the world are given unlimited access to experience NCCU.”

“Our university is educating techo-scholars who understand how technology intersects with all disciplines—from STEM to the liberal arts, business, education and law.”

YouVisit’s platform will highlight NCCU with the most engaging and realistic media available today, using a combination of 3D 360° panoramas and 3D 360° videos to create the best virtual-reality experience. The virtual tour will be available on three key platforms: Facebook, mobile (Android, iPhone and iPad) and the NCCU website.

“NCCU’s new virtual tour will showcase our campus as a first-choice, premier institution in the global market place,” said Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management Dr. Monica Terrell Leach. “This is another technological innovation in our recruitment efforts to address the changing demographics of NCCU and meet the needs of the 21st century scholar.”

The tour is available in English, Spanish and Mandarin. Visitors can access the tour at: http://www.youvisit.com/tour/nccu.
