How Do I Add a Shared Mailbox in Microsoft Outlook 2013

  1. Access the Control Panel.
    • Windows 7:
      1. Click on Start.
      2. Click on Control Panel.
      3. Click on Category, select Large icons.
    • Windows 8:
      1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings. If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Settings.
      2. Click on Control Panel.
      3. Click on Category, select Large icons.
  2. Click on Mail.
  3. Click on Show Profiles.
  4. Click on Add.
  5. Enter a Profile Name, click on OK.
  6. For Your Name and E-mail Address, enter the email address of the shared mailbox.
    Do not enter a password. Room mailboxes are disabled and do not have passwords.
  7. Click on Next.
  8. If you are off-campus or on a non-domain-joined workstation, you will receive multiple password prompts.

    Enter your username@domain and password, click on OK.

    If you log onto your computer as jdoe50, your username@domain would be jdoe50@AD.NCCU.EDU
  9. Click on Finish.
  10. Click on Prompt for a profile to be used, click on OK.
  11. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  12. For Profile Name, select your shared mailbox, click on OK.
  13. If you are off-campus or on a non-domain-joined workstation, you will receive multiple password prompts.

    Enter your username@domain and password, click on OK.

    If you log onto your computer as jdoe50, your username@domain would be jdoe50@AD.NCCU.EDU
  14. You should now see your shared mailbox.

 

 

Send as a Shared Mailbox in Outlook 2013

  1. Click on New Email.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click on From.
  4. Click on From, select Other E-mail Address.
  5. For From, enter the email address of the shared mailbox, click OK.
  6. Verify the From field displays the shared mailbox email address.

 

Open a shared mailbox in OWA

  1. Open your web browser and go to https://webmail.nccu.edu/OWA/Shared Mailbox Email Address

    In our example, we are accessing spam@NCCU.EDU, so our address is 
    https://webmail.nccu.edu/OWA/spam@NCCU.EDU
     
  2. Enter your user name and password, click on Sign In.
  3. You will now be in the shared mailbox.
