How Do I Access the Common Drive (Department Shared Folders)

 

 Windows Users: Click here to Automatically Map Your Common Drive

Once access has been provided to a common drive folder, you may need to log off your workstation to view the changes.

Accessing the Common Drive on a Workstation:

  1. Log on to workstation with your AD credentials
  2. Open My Computer
    • From the Start button or your desktop
  3. Double click Common on FS-2.ad.nccu.edu (O:)
  4. Double click Department folder you would like to access

Cannot see FS-2 Common? Map the Drive!:

  1. Open My Computer
  2. Click Tools in the menu bar
  3. Select Map Network Drive
  4. On Drive:, select O:
  5. On Folders: type \\fs-2.ad.nccu.edu\common\
  6. Check the Reconnect at logon button
  7. Click Finish

Accessing folders on WebVPN:

  1. Go to https://webvpn.nccu.edu/
  2. Login (Group: NCCU)
  3. After successful logon, select Public Folders under File Bookmarks
  4. Click department folders for access

Accessing folders on Mac:

  1. Select Finder
  2. Select Go from the menu and select Connect to Server
  3. Type cifs://fs-2.ad.nccu.edu/ into the Server Address field
  4. Click Connect
  5. Type your username in the name field
    • Use AD\username if it does not ask for the domain
  6. Type your AD password in your password field
  7. Click Ok
