Dr. Robert Horne is an assistant professor for the Counselor Education program at North Carolina Central University. He earned his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University, his M.A. from North Carolina Central University, and his B.A. from Florida A&M University.
Research Interests
Dr. Horne's research interests include the following:
- The integration of spirituality and religion in the counseling process
- African American male spirituality and concepts of success
- Psychological and psychosocial factors that affect substance use among African American males
- Mental health and substance use among ex-offenders and members of underserved populations
- International mental health and substance use counseling and counselor training
- Treatment methodologies and practices that can be used by non-professionals in international settings to address mental health and substance use among underserved populations
