Christal Carmichael began her entrepreneurial journey at a very young age and has maintained businesses that not only enhance the community but also provide employment opportunities for passionate mental health professionals of all ages. Through her clinic, she and her staff provide pro bono counseling services for women, families and youth who have experienced mental health challenges.
Her productive career as a therapist, professor and mentor has given her the opportunity to share her knowledge all over the state as a radio guest and invited speaker at more than 100 schools, churches, company trainings and non-profit events. Her vision and leadership are remarkable, and her accomplishments have been transformative for her organizations. She has been and continues to be a noteworthy role model, change agent, and advocate of many.
In 2015, Christal was appointed by the Board of Commissioners to serve on the Juvenile Council for Crime Prevention, and she has maintained her role on the Executive Board since 2015. She was also selected by one of the leading nonprofit organizations in the nation to serve as director of youth development for a new program that seamlessly and successfully transitions at-risk youth from confinement back to their communities.
Christal was selected by the National Council of Negro Women as the 2020 Woman of Excellence for her leadership in the community.
