While staying with us at NCCU, we hope you take advantage of our dining services. On-campus options include cafeteria-style meals and snack bars. Also available to our conference guests are banquet and catering services for special meals and buffets. Some campus locations provide a la carte options, which mean you pay the individual price of the item as opposed to all-you-can-eat cafeteria style. We also have the capability of adding any amount of money on a conference card that uses a debit system. Please contact NCCU Campus Catering at 919-530-7802 for more information on pricing and services.
Parking is available on campus within a short walking distance to each building. We will have designated parking areas for participants. Parking permits can be reserved in advance. Parking is free after 5 p.m. and on weekends. It is not recommended that guests attempt to drive around campus during their stay; NCCU is a pedestrian-friendly campus with an excellent shuttle system that will be available for participants during their stay.
The university has a wide variety of recreational facilities available for conference guests. Indoor and outdoor sports and fitness equipment are available. Tennis and basketball courts, weight rooms and swimming can be part of your stay at NCCU. Conference participants will have access during their stay to all of our recreation facilities for a reasonable weekly rate.
All rooms have Internet. There are also computer labs available in a number of our residence halls, and we will work to provide access to these if needed. Our department also owns the following audio and visual technical equipment: multiple laptops and desktop computers including color and laser printers, overhead projectors, scanners, fax machines, easels with flip charts, LCD projectors, and digital cameras. All of these would be available for a nominal rental fee. Participants would be able to bring their own A/V equipment into our facilities at no cost. We also have in-house IT personnel available to assist with any problems or concerns.
Most residence halls on campus have lounges and common areas that can comfortably accommodate groups up to 25 people. For larger or more formal gatherings, space is available on other parts of our campus. The Alfonso Elder Student Union and various academic buildings offer traditional meeting rooms and classrooms. Rental fees and hourly staff charges depend on the facility, usage and need.
Additional conference support is available for such purposes as name tags, on-site and pre-registration assistance, certificates, receiving of funds and assistance with other related activities.
