New Horizons Exhibit at NCCU Art Museum

The final exhibition of the academic year, New Horizons: NCCU Artists, is now on view at the North Carolina Central University Art Museum. The exhibit will run through July 29 and highlights the diverse range of media and techniques practiced by NCCU students in the Art Department. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

The exhibit includes a juried show and provides current students with an opportunity to show their work in a professional gallery space. The works have been selected from those created in the art studio classes during the 2010-11 academic year. Sculpture, paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, computer graphics, prints and crafts are all included in the exhibit, and many of the works are available for purchase.

“This exhibit provides a venue for student artists to present their work to NCCU and the greater community,” said Kenneth Rodgers, director of the art museum. “It is an integral part of their education.”

The student exhibit is a long-standing tradition at the university, established by former art professor Marion Parham in 1954. For further information or assistance, please call 530-6211. For group visits, please call in advance.
