Enrollment Checklist

Congratulations, New Eagle!

Your offer of admission to North Carolina Central University will become final once you complete each of the following requirements. 

High School Seniors: Final acceptance to NCCU is contingent upon your maintaining a level of academic performance equal to or better than your high school record so far. Declining performance during your senior year could jeopardize your admission offer. If you feel as though you will not satisfy NCCU requirements, you will need to make plans to attend summer school at your high school to satisfy any deficiencies. Submit your final transcript immediately after graduation. Failure to do so may delay your registration and enrollment. 

Second-Degree and Transfer Students: Final acceptance to NCCU is contingent upon satisfactory completion of all work at your prior or current institution. Submit your transcript immediately upon completion of your last semester of enrollment. Failure to do so may delay your registration and enrollment.

1) Check Your Status
Click here to check your admissions status, financial aid awards, view class schedules and more. Your username is the Student ID# (your “820 number”) found on your acceptance letter. The initial password is your six-digit birthday (example: Jan. 1, 1991, would be 010191)

2) Confirm Your Enrollment
Visit www.nccu.edu/enrollconfirm to complete the enrollment confirmation. By submitting this online confirmation, you are officially notifying NCCU that you will attend for the semester selected. 

3) Apply for Housing and Dining
Complete your housing application and pay your $150 nonrefundable housing administrative fee to reserve your room on campus. Visit the Housing and Dining website for information regarding the housing process, residence halls and meal plan options. 

4) Apply for Financial Aid
Make sure you've completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Immediately respond to requests from NCCU for documents such as tax returns or worksheets. Please list the NCCU school code: 002950.  Contact the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid at 919-530-6180 or via e-mail at <ssa@nccu.eduu>. Please note that the priority FAFSA deadline is March 15 to guarantee eligible funds.

5) Register for a Maroon and Gray Day and Eagle Institute Orientation
Maroon and Gray days are optional for admitted students. The benefit of attending a Maroon and Gray day in a city near you is that you will complete your placement-test requirements, have an opportunity to ask our staff questions about life on campus and meet current orientation leaders. If you choose not to attend Maroon and Gray day you will be required to complete the testing requirement during Eagle Institute Orientation.

Participation in an Eagle Institute Orientation session is mandatory for all incoming freshman and transfer students. A nonrefundable fee is due at the time of registration.

6) Test for Course Placement
You’ll take any necessary placement tests during the orientation session. One important thing you can do is to bring copies of your transcripts to the orientation session in case there are questions about your credits.

7) Submit Medical Forms
Make an appointment with your family physician to have the Medical History/Immunization Form completed and send it to the Student Health Office. You may also bring it with you to the Eagle Institute Orientation. 8) Submit Final Transcipts
All official high school transcripts are due no later than July 1 for fall enrollment and one month before the first day of class for spring and summer enrollment. All college transfer transcripts are due one month before the first day of class for spring and summer enrollment.  

All first-year and transfer students completing AP/IB exams should have their test scores sent directly to the Undergraduate Admissions Office. We do not accept scores indicated on college transcripts.
