The recipient(s) shall be determined by the Scholarship Committee of North Carolina Central University. The Scholarship Committee shall apply the following criteria in the selection of the scholarship recipient(s). 1) Recipient(s) must have been admitted or be eligible for admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) at NCCU. 2) Recipient(s) will have taken and passed the Praxis I exam (or met the equivalent requirements through the SAT or ACT). 3) The scholarship will support current full-time NCCU students who are pursuing a teacher education degree at NCCU. 4) Recipient(s) must hold and maintain a 3.0 grade point average in their respective major. 5) Recipient(s) must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. 6) Recipient must submit a letter of recommendation from an advisor, instructor, program coordinator or department chair. 7) Recipient(s) must be a North Carolina resident. 8) Recipient(s) must have an interview with the School of Education dean or their designee. 9) Recipient(s) must submit a FAFSA to the NCCU Office of Scholarship and Student Aid.
