Dr. Dohyeong Kim, assistant professor of public administration, has a received a $21,714 grant from Duke University to improve malaria outcomes through the development of support tools and health delivery experiments. Kim's research will target Tanzania and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa, where more than 90 percent of malaria deaths occur.

Dr. Igor Bondarev, associate professor of physics, has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to research new subfields of physics. Bondarev's research, "EAGER: Nanotube Composites: Near-Field Electrodynamics and Applications," could lead to development of a new generation of carbon-based, high-yield, high-performance devices for use in energy conversion and recycling technologies.
