North Carolina Central University has numerous clubs and organizations that students may join to find their niche on campus or to meet other students with whom they have similar interests. The type of organizations range from academic, governing body/representative, fraternity/sorority, international, political/social action, religious/spiritual, special interest, social, sports/recreation, student media/publications to ethnic and multicultural.

Academic
Alpha Psi Omega: We try to develop dramatic talent and the art of performance and production, to cultivate a taste for the best in drama, to foster cultural values, which we believe dramatics develop and finally to unite the NCCU community to promote mutual brotherhood. 

Athletic Training Student Association: To stimulate professional interest in the fields of Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, and related allied health occupations.

C. A. Jones History and Social Club: is a service undergraduate history organization dedicated to studying the past.  Organization objectives are achieved by inviting guest scholars to share their research, attending professional conferences, and presenting research to peers, faculty, staff, and administration

Education Majors Advisory Council: To raise awareness of the issues that impact on professionalizing, the field of education and to improve the preparation of teachers as educators of diverse contexts.

Expressionen! German Club: To create an awareness of the importance of the German language and cultures in society.

Fashion Inc.:  Joins textile and apparel majors and provides opportunities for them to express individual creativity and skills in apparel construction and design.  Students are introduced to professionals in the field who mentor and critique upcoming fashion designers.

Food and Nutrition Association: This organization promotes cohesive interrelationships among students majoring in food and nutrition and provides opportunities for students to enhance their leadership skills.

Haitian Student Organization:  To promote cultural expansion, to educate NCCU’s family about the culture of Haiti for a more productive global community.


National Association of Black Accountants, Inc: Shall unite through membership accounting students who have similar interest and ideals, are committed to academia and future professional excellence, and sense of professional and civic responsibility, and are concerned with enhancing opportunities for minorities in the accounting profession.

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality:  As a dedicated team, this organization strives to ensure the future of its membership by offering programs that enrich the lives of participants and increase membership.

NCCU Civic Engagement Task Force: To keep the campus educated and involved in current events by completing the twelve necessary required programs local committee, state committee, and national/international committee. To keep the organization orderly and constantly in a unified professional manner and to engage the organization in at least four social programs a year.

NCCU CIS Club:  Develop future IT professionals by introducing the members to opportunities and programs promoting involvement in the North Carolina IT community.

NCCU Sociology Club:  The fundamental purpose of the NCCU Sociology Club is to provide a forum for sociology student majors, minors, faculty, and students interested in sociology.  This forum offers an exchange in dialogue on related issues, interaction and networking, information on internships, employment, volunteer work, research, leadership and community service projects.

NCCU Think Tank:  Provides a non-partisan, collegiate environment where African-American student scholars of diverse perspectives and experiences can come together to identify pressing issues within our society and propose realistic solutions.

NCCU Undergraduate Honor Cadre: Is open campus-wide effort to identify and target students with untapped potential and skill. Selected students will improve their skill level by learning specific knowledge areas including, but not limited to general science, history, mathematics, literature, geography and current events.

Marketing Pro (Marketing Club): To provide business opportunities, social networks, and community service while fostering an environment conducive to learning the marketing concepts.

Phi Beta Lambda Fraternity:  Provides secondary students in business and office education the opportunity to develop vocational and career supportive competencies and to promote civic and personal responsibilities.

Political Science Club:  The organization’s purpose is to foster political awareness, community service, and augment the Political Science curriculum.

Society of Future Health Educators:  Creates opportunities for fellowship and motivation to health education majors and minors. The society also improves, establishes, and maintains high standards of health education throughout the campus and community.

Society of Physic Students: To foster leadership development in the field of physics through the coordination of education and awareness projects. Work toward this by coordinating regular series of roundtable discussions of student leaders and create a mentorship program between first year students and graduating students.

Social Work Society: The mission of ESTEEM is to promote self-esteem among the women of NCCU’s campus. We would like to have programs and interactive events that will creatively express self-value, self-acceptance, and self-worth.


Student Nursing Association: To bring together and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs. To convey the standards and ethics of the nursing profession; promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of nursing profession.

Voces Unidas (Spanish Club):  To enhance the Spanish speaking and writing skills of Spanish majors, minors ad all interested person in order to enhance their knowledge on the Hispanic culture.

Governing Body Representative
Annie Day Shepard House Council:  Dedicated to learning, teaching and advocating for the will being of all residents of Annie Day Shepard Residence Hall.

Baynes Hall House Council:  The focus is to provide quality programs and events for the residents of Baynes Hall and to serve as a liaison between residents, Residential Life, and the RHA. 

Campus Crossing House: To establish an effective role for residents while fostering a group identity. Continue growth and expand your horizons learning never stops. 

Eagle Landing House Council: Serve as a residential resource to the residence hall. Our purpose is to listen to the voice of the Eagle Landing Residents. 

Eagleson Hall House Council: To establish an effective role for residents while fostering a group identity. Also we challenge each student to take part in the decision making the residence hall.

Freshman Class Council: Affords students the opportunity to practice self-imposed responsibility and promotes training in self governance.

Junior Class Council:  A direct entity of the SGA ensuring that all students are grantee a qualify education in an environment that promotes academic growth, cultural development, and civil responsibility.
 
McLean Hall House Council:  The mission is to create a living and learning environment fostering personal growth among residents.

National Pan-Hellenic Council of NCCU: We the members of Black Greek-lettered organizations of North Carolina Central University in order to work harmoniously together to foster scholarship, character, initiative, achievement and the advancement of our college community.

New Building 2 House Council:   To act as a liaison between residential life administrators and the residence of new Building 2 to ensure each resident receives the best academic living and learning community through promoting the vision and philosophy of North Carolina Central University.

Residence Hall Association: To provide fair and equal representation for campus residence. To act as liaisons between the campus residence and university administration. To provide a link by focusing on three (3) main areas; programming, policy recommendations, and general issues and concerns within the residence halls. RHA will work with the department of Residential Life to build a community atmosphere here at North Carolina Central University.

Ruffin Hall Council: To provide residence with educational and diverse programs that will enhance their social and professional skills. To serve as advocating body responsible for representing resident student interests and addressing their needs on matters of Residential Life and North Carolina Central University.

Rush Hall Council: To provide all the residents of Rush Hall superior truth and service by developing a community atmosphere where concerns as well as support will be provided through programs and discussions.

School of Business Graduate Student Advisory Board: The mission is to promote a closer relationship between graduate students, faculty, staff and the administration of the School of Business.

Senior Class Council: The Senior Class Council is a direct entity of the Student Government Association ensuring students are guaranteed a quality education in a environment that promoted academic growth, cultural development, and civil responsibility.

Sophomore Class Council: The Sophomore Class Council is a direct entity of the Student Government Association ensuring that students are guaranteed a quality education in an environment that promoted academic growth, cultural development, and civil responsibility.


Student Activities Board:  The Student Activities Board is the major student programming entity at NCCU that sponsors a variety of campus activities to include educational, cultural, social, recreation, entertainment, and community building programs.  New activities are explored, providing students with new skills, insights, and self-development opportunities.

Student Government Association:  The Student Government Association affords students the opportunity to practice self-imposed responsibility and promotes training in self-direction.  All students, upon registration, become members of the Student Government Association and are encouraged to participate in the selection of their representatives.


Ethnic/Multicultural Organizations
100 Black Women: We the members of 100 Black Women of NCCU, in order to increase unity among African-American female leaders on campus, promote self-worth, self-esteem, responsibility, the importance of education, and provide substantial community service.

Association of Student for Better Africa: Our mission is to increase awareness of the continent of Africa, on both North Carolina Centrals amps and in the entire Triangle area. We want to exhibit the cultures of our fathers in order to educate our fellow students on the campus of NCCU. We also want to aid African countries in the areas of health, education, and living.

Colors of NCCU: Colors is NCCU’s organization for lesbian, gay, and bisexual, transgender, questioning, and allied (LGBIQA), students, staff, faculty, and alumni. COLORS is dedicated to creating a safe equitable community for all.

Los Salseros: To enrich our campus through Latin dance. To encourage Afro-Latino awareness by engaging in a culture that is different from theirs. Los Salseros is a performing arts dance group that provides an alternative to the familiar Hip-Hop style of dancing. Our main sources of outreach are performance and community service.


Multi-Cultural Organization: The Multi-Cultural Organization’s purpose is to provide a family for international students and students with a cultural background on campus. This organization is to promote with unity and provide educational, yet fun programs for a diverse group of individuals.

International Student Organization:  The goal of this organization is to encourage participation of International students in extracurricular activities, and to promote cultural understanding within the NCCU community 


ESTEEM: The mission of ESTEEM is to promote self-esteem among the women of NCCU’s campus. We would like to have programs and interactive events that will creatively express self-value, self-acceptance, and self-worth.


Greek Organizations – Fraternities/Sororities
Fraternities
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.:  Seeks to establish a firm foundation for the principles of scholarship, fellowship and enriching of humanity. This fraternity emphasizes academic excellence with the goal of correcting educational, economic, political, and social injustice faced by African-Americans.

Kappa Alpha Psi: To promote spiritual, social, and intellectual welfare of its members and society through the principles of achievement.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.:  This fraternity unites college men of similar scholarship ideals and brotherhood and prepares members for greater usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom, and individual dignity.

Phi Beta Sigma, Inc.:  This fraternity stands for brotherhood, scholarship, and service.  Members are men of action who work in the community as a catalyst for positive change.  Members also never forget their past, never grow content with the present, and always work together for a brighter future.

Sororities
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.:  The purpose is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards and to promote unity and friendship among college women.  Also of priority is the effort to increase the social stature of women and to maintain an interest in college life and service to mankind.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.:  Public service, volunteerism, mentorship, and philanthropy are the emphasis of this sorority, with members holding offices in various campus organizations.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.:  The mission is to increase awareness of the issues that plague the African American and Durham community and to sponsor programs and community service projects.


Honorary 
Alpha Kappa Delta International Honor Society: The Gamma chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta will carry out its mission through offering tutorial sessions to improve the skills acknowledged by Alpha Kappa Delta and host a symposium to increase the knowledge of sociology to the student body.

Golden Key International Honor Society:  Golden Key recognizes and encourages scholastic achievement in all fields of undergraduate study and ensures economic assistance to outstanding members by means of annual scholarships.

Kappa Omicron Nu: The mission for Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society is to empower students through scholarships, research, and leadership. Kappa Omicron Nu was established on February 21, 1990 by the consolidation of Kappa Omicron Phi on Omicron Nu. The organization prepares students to be scholars and researchers.


Phi Eta Sigma National Honorary Society:  The society is committed to providing members and the general student body with opportunities to meet scholars from all academic disciplines.  Students must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.5 at least one semester of their freshman year in order to join Phi Eta Sigma.


Political/Social Action
College against Cancer: National collaboration of college student, faculty, and staff dedicated to fighting cancer, volunteering for the American Cancer Society, and improving college communities by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society.

Common Cause for Political Reform: Strengthen public participation and faith in our institutions of self-government. Also to ensure that government and political processes save the general interest, rather than speed interest.

NAACP (NCCU Chapter):  Strives to advance the economic, educational, social and political status of black people and other minority groups through harmonious cooperation and appreciation of the black man’s contribution to civilization.

Project Quiet Storm: We, the members of the Project Quiet Storm Organization, ensure social awareness, enhancement of academic support, promote community service, and will be involved in the various aspects of North Carolina Central University.


R.E.A.A.C.T.I.O.N: We shall help the students of NCCU stay abreast on issues within the African-American community we will encourage students to become more knowledgeable of the legal system. We will strive to fight against negative stereotypes protruded by media. We shall create a better perception of the African American community.

United Pan-African Student Movement: To have impact on the community, and to be a vehicle for student leadership. We endeavor to start a revolutionary change in society. Our motto is: One God! One Aim! One Destiny!

Vox: Voices for Planned Parenthood of NCCU: VOX: Voices of NCCU, exists to educate he university community about reproductive health and rights; to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism (pro-choice meaning that it is a woman’s choice to do what she wants with her body) on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.


Religious
A Chosen Generation:  Membership is committed to community service and making a difference in the lives of those served; the elderly, children, and inner-city youth. 

Bahai’ Club To help facilitate the advancement of humanity through the promotion of justice, race, unity, world peace, and equality between women and men

Christian Student Fellowship:  The mission of this organization is to serve the students with opportunities to participate in ministry. Christian student fellowship is a non-denominational organization that serves as an opportunity to provide soul fellowship, worship, religious study, and service.


College Life Ministry: To create an environment for young adults and college students to worship and fellowship our goals are as follows: 1) to encourage worship. 2) To encourage fellowship. 3) Create a strong faith base for students who face day to day struggles with their Christianity.

Every Nation Campus Ministry:  Every Nation Campus Ministry exists to develop leaders that will impact the world and community at NCCU. The purpose of this organization here at NCCU, is to be able to be a diverse group of Christian Students, staff, and associate members who are committed to serving the NCCU campus.

Faith, Integrity, Truth & Trust (F.I.T.T.): The mission of the F.I.T.T. Ministry is to provide an opportunity for ministry among the brethren of the campus community. This organization seeks to promote fellowship mission, community service, worship, and devote ministry services.


God First Campus Ministry: Our mission statement is to win souls for Christ and to disciple and empower them so that they may take full advantage of all that the kingdom has to offer in this life and in the world to come. (Matthew 28:18-20).


Nehemiah Christian Center Campus Ministry: The purpose is to repair lives broken by the various effects of sin, and to develop effective Christian disciples who are grounded in God’s word and are activity involved in establishing God’s kingdom.


Presbyterian Campus Ministry: To promote Good News of Jesus Christ while emphasizing our Pan African heritage. Also is an ecumenical ministry guided by the triune God-Our Creator, Redeemer, and sustainer.

Victorious Students for Christ:  Victorious Students for Christ was founded to teach spiritual, education, and social principles to all college students and to ensure that they develop into mature and productive members of society. 

Women With Purpose: Women with Purpose is discovering the importance of applying biblical principles to their lives in order to become whole; physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally thorough fellowship, testimony, and outreach.


Worship and Praise Inspirational Mass Choir:  This is a non-denominational choir at NCCU that endeavors to uplift the name of the Savior Jesus Christ through song and worship.


Social
Alph Iota Omega Christian Fraternity: To perpetuate brotherhood, leadership, and service among men through accountability, mentorship, and outreach in local communities.

Beta Nu Rho Social Service Fellowship:  Beta Nu Rho serves the university community by strengthening bonds through diversified fellowship, academic excellence, cultural stability and spirituality.

Bon Vivant Fashion Society:  This is a fashion organization dedicated to the purpose of insight and innovation in popular fashion from Avant-Garde to everyday, ready to wear articles.  The organization sponsors social and professional activities and workshops.

Collegiate 100 Black Men: We, the Collegiate 100 Black Men of NCCU, are dedicated to education and empowering youths and their families while positively impacting communities.


Debutante & Boyz II Men Mentoring Program:  The organization encourages, sponsors, and develops mentoring activities designed to train middle and high school students to become self-directed.   It also promotes an environment emphasizing the social graces, self-pride and dignity, and cultural and academic growth.  

Harambee Club: The Harambee Club aims to work toward a meaningful understanding of our positive human potential and develop a model of human relationships that will transcend individualism and usher in communities filled with socially conscious individuals who are their talents and faculties in service to humanity.


LADYLYK:  This dance group was created to assist young adolescent ladies with becoming confident young women.  The organization combines hip-hop entertainment, commitment and dedication, while building individual confidence and self-esteem.

Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity: Kappa Kappa Psi is a fraternal organization that promotes the advancement of college and university bands through dedicated service and support to bands; comprehensive education, leadership opportunities, and recognition for the benefit of its members and society.


Metro Club:  This organization is a non-profit dedicated to providing DC metropolitan students with comfortable social and professional activities and support services that promote social fellowship, community service, and cultural awareness.

Phi Alpha Delta Pre Law:   Strives for excellence in the pursuit of Social Competence, Technical Awareness, and Professional Mindedness and seeks to improve each of these qualities in our membership.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of American, Inc: The object of this fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit, the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students, the advancement of music in America, and a loyalty to the Alma Mater

Prestige Models: The mission of prestige models organizations is to aid with a sense of style, high fashion as well as developing runway experience. Through creativity and skill prestige models will enhance technique and confidence both on and off the runway. We will promote unique style, class, and fashion while enlightening our audiences through a united organization.


Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority: Operates primary as a student service and leadership recognition society whose chief aim is to assist the director of bands in developing the leadership enthusiasm that they required of their band.

Team PARADYCE: To broaden the intellectual business approach of all members of the PARADYCE. We do this through fashion and education while entertaining the student body, faculty and staff with an enthusiastic approach.

Xi Chi Rho Social Service Fellowship:  The fellowship is a socially oriented campus organization committed to building a strong sense of community by displaying unity, strength, and service.

Special Interest
Evalesco: This organization provides members who want to model professionally with modeling programs and run way experience.

Eagle Ambassador Program:  Members of this organization voluntarily represents, promotes, and upholds the university mission of “Truth and Service” in the various programs sponsored.  Students are diverse and from a variety of majors and undergraduate classifications who assist with Campus Tours, Spring Open House, and various university events.

Eagle C.O.R.E.: To positively represent, promote and uphold the institutional motto of “Truth and Service by providing all prospective students, new undergraduates and their families with a comprehensive introduction to college life.

Eagle Hope:  To develop and equip student leaders, training them to encourage and promote healthy student behavior on NCCU campus and in the community through example and student led events and activities.

Financial Management Society: Assisted in the professional educational and social development of students interested in finance providing an association that focus on personal finance and general topics of investments and capital markets.

NCCU Dance Group: To broaden the scope and interest of the student body in dance, as well as in fine art; by participating in demonstrations and performances.

NCCU Health Career:  Provides motivational activities to encourage inspire and prepare students to pursue careers in the health professions.

Project SAFE (Save a Fellow Eagle):  This is a peer education program that aims to reduce the incidence of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and other sexually transmitted infections among students.  The goal will be reached by training NCCU students to conduct a variety of outreach and risk reduction activities.

RDU Young Marines: To positively impact America future by providing equality youth development and drug demand reduction.

Student Coalition Against Tobacco (SCAT): To create change in the existing polices concerning smoking on the NCCU campus and its buildings. SCAT strives to educate the NCCU Campus Community about the dangers of exposure to second-hand smoke.

The Lifestyle: Created to unite all individuals with a common interest in namely sneakers but also music, art, culture and style. Our organization will advocates for originality, the addressee of concerns in culture and service to the community.

Tri-State Club: Facilitate, encourage and develop programs designed to accomplish the following: to ease the transition for the students from the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Delaware and Pennsylvania.

Vyce Verza Fashion & Entertainment: This organization allows all individuals the opportunity to enhance their self-esteem through the use of fashion and entertainment.

Women Center’s Alliance: The Women’s Center Alliance is firmly dedicated to the empowerment, education and inspiration of woman on this campus to reach limitless potential. 

Sports/Recreation
Da Naughty Boyz/High Maintenance: Shall teach others the style and grace of the hip-hop culture through determination, skill, and technique.

House Arrest II:  This NCCU dance team highlights individual talent with leadership skills and recruits students with similar artistic and performance interests.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (F.C.A.):  To present to athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.

Lacrosse Team:  To promote fitness, unity, and leadership among the students of North Carolina Central University through the sport of Lacrosse.

Physical Education Majors Club:  PERMA is a co-educational service organization that provides professional development and community services, while promoting academic growth and social interaction for students dedicated to the field of physical education, recreation and athletic training.

Screaming Eagles: A student based organization that cheers, taunt, and exemplifies eagle pride.

Underground Legendz Dance Team: Will lead its members in and an academic awareness through diverse dance, cultures and engagement throughout the community.

Student Media/Publications
AudioNet: Campus Access Radio:  The student radio station at NCCU provides students the opportunity to learn radio broadcasting in a professional environment by training them in the field while providing news, information, and music to the community.
