Communicating with Students through Email
The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid deliver financial aid awards via email. It is important for students to check their NCCU email accounts for updated financial aid information.
Accepting Aid Online
Students can electronically accept desired awards on my EOL following these steps:
1. Go to http:/www.nccu.edu/intranet
2. Enter username and password (provided by NCCU)
3. Click on SSB Banner
4. Enter in Banner User ID & Pin, select login (occasionally requested)
5. Select Student & Financial Aid
6. Select Financial Aid
7. Select My Award Information
8. Select Award by Aid Year
9. Select Current Award year (i.e. 2009-2010)
10. Select Tab-Accept Award Offer
It's not too Late to Respond: Prompt Responses Assures Timely Awards
The Office of Scholarships and Student Aid (SSA) sent the Request for Additional Information (RFAI) letters to permanent addresses and student emails accounts for 2009-10. The RFAI letters identifies additional documents required, if you child was selected for a process called Verification. For all requests, a prompt reply and response from you will assure a prompt and timely award notification for 2009-10. Failing to respond could postpone receiving financial assistance for 2009-10. You Received your Award Notification - Now What?
Additional Steps Maybe Required
Congratulations, you have received your Award Notification from North Carolina Central University! Now what do you do? Good question. First, read the back of the Award Notification. Second, you can complete your loan Entrance Counseling at www.dl.ed.gov; Third, you can also complete your Master Promissory Note at https://dlenote.ed.gov; Fourth, parents who accepted the PLUS loan MUST complete the 2009-10 PLUS (Parent) Loan Confirmation form; forward form along with a copy of your Driver's License and Social Security Card to our office as soon as possible.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
Every academic year, the Office of Scholarships and Student aid is required by Federal Regulations to monitor the academic progress of each application for financial assistance. It is the student's responsibility to stay informed of the university's SAP standards and to monitor their progress. To be eligible for financial aid at NCCU, whether or not aid was received in the past, students must be in compliance with all three of the following areas: cumulative GPA, hours earned, and maximum length of study. SAP letters were sent to students via email and postal mail. There is an appeal process as stated in the student's SAP letters.

Fall 2009 Early Registration/Validation
March 16 - July 31, 2009
-Tuition, fees, room & board, prior balances are due July 31, 2009
-Classes will be cancelled on August 3, 2009 for non-payment
-Late registration will begin on August 4, 2009
-Late registration fee of $50.00 will begin on August 4, 2009
-Classes begin August 17, 2009
