Name Alpha Phi Sigma
Description Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society for Criminal Justice Majors. The society recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate, graduate students of criminal justice and law students. To be eligible for membership, students must have completed one-third of their total hours required for graduation. Students are recommended to the national organization by the chapter advisor. Undergraduate students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 — overall and also in criminal justice courses. The students must also rank in the top 35 percent of their class and must have completed a minimum of four courses within the criminal justice curriculum. The Honor Society is open to those with a declared criminal justice major or minor. The Eta Lambda Chapter is the local chapter at NCCU. Induction takes place in the spring semester. The chapter meets twice monthly and is involved in numerous activities, such as community services, fundraising, going to national conference, organizational fair, homecoming etc.
