NCCU Department of Nursing Ranked in Top 5 For Value

North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) Department of Nursing has been named as one of the most affordable accredited nursing degree programs in the state by collegechoice.net, ranking fourth out of 10 selected nursing programs in North Carolina.

To determine the rankings, the organization examined in-state tuition using information collected by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) database.

According to the collegechoice.net website, the listings are published to help prospective students find affordable degree programs at top-ranked institutions.

“The rankings recognize the hard work of faculty members to provide quality affordable education to students that lead to successful careers as healthcare practitioners,” said Dr. Wanda Lawrence, chair of the NCCU Department of Nursing.

Consistently cited for high quality and value, the department recently ranked No. 17 among the nation’s top 30 online nursing programs for 2016, according to College Values Online.

NCCU’s Department of Nursing offers three options leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The Online R.N.-to-B.S.N. Program was established in 2006 and allows students to complete the curriculum within 12 months, or in two years if electing a part-time status.
