NCCU Chancellor Search Committee Schedules Public Forums

The North Carolina Central University Chancellor Search Committee will hold a series of open forums for the public to provide input in the selection of a new chancellor for NCCU. Forum participants will be asked to share recommendations about people, characteristics or other ideas.

The forums are open to the public and will take place on the following dates:

Tuesday, Sept. 25
Business and Industry Forum
5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
American Tobacco Campus, Bay 7
318 Blackwell Street, Durham, N.C.

Wednesday, Sept. 26
Alumni and Community Forum
6 to 6:45 p.m.
B.N. Duke Auditorium

Forums for NCCU faculty, staff and students will also be held on Sept. 26.

The 19-member search committee, chaired by NCCU Board of Trustees member Harold T. Epps, received its charge from Tom Ross, president of the 17-campus UNC System on Sept. 6. The search committee will recommend finalists to the full NCCU Board of Trustees. The board must recommend a slate of finalists to President Ross, and then the president will recommend one candidate to the UNC Board of Governors, which elects the new chancellor.

A university web page has been created to provide the public with updates concerning the process and efforts of the search committee. To view the web page, visit http://www.nccu.edu/administration/chancellor/search/committee.cfm.
