First Lady Michelle Obama to Address Students and Local Community at NCCU on Sept. 19


First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama will visit North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and speak to students and members of the Triangle community on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and the First Lady will speak at 1:40 p.m. The First Lady will speak about the upcoming election in November and promote voter registration and voting through GottaVote.com  

The event is free and open to NCCU students, however, tickets are required due to limited space. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the following pick-up location:

Monday, Sept. 17, and Tuesday, Sept. 18
9 a.m.
Alfonso Elder Student Union, Room 104
Student ID is required to secure a ticket

Members of the local community who received a community credential for the Democratic National Convention have also been invited to attend the event. Ticket distribution is being coordinated through the Obama for America office in Durham.

First Lady Obama will also address students at another University of North Carolina institution, East Carolina University, at 3 p.m. on Sept. 19.

The event is organized by Obama for America.
