Sirens' Song

Visiting Professor Dr. Lance Hulme’s orchestra piece “Sirens’ Song” was selected to for the ABLAZE Records Orchestra Masterpieces compact disk release in June 2013.  The recording will take place in Brno, Czech Republic this summer and released shortly thereafter.

This will be Hulme’s fourth orchestra compact disk release.  Sirens’ Song was commissioned by the University of Oklahoma Philharmonia under Mo. Jonathan Shames and was premiered in October 2008.  Hulme, who teaches music theory, aural skills and counterpoint in the department of music, also recently enjoyed the performance of his “Threnody for the Victims of September 11, 2001 with the Durham Symphony and Chorus under Mo. William Curry.
