Alumnus Stars in Network TV Show

Jimmy Woods

Jimmy Woods, a 2014 Theatre and Dance graduate, currently stars in The CW's new series "Black Lightning." The 13-part television series based on a DC Comics superhero premiered on Jan. 16 and will continue to air weekly each Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. C.T.

Woods, a Durham native, was adopted at a young age by his aunt and uncle. He began exploring his love for theater during performances in Sunday school musicals and later as a student at Hillside High School. Upon graduation from North Carolina Central University, Woods launched his career in television.

Woods is truly an Eagle soaring high in Tinseltown.
