Memorial Service for NCCU Photographer Robert Lawson

The family of long-time North Carolina Central University photographer Robert Lawson has announced details of the memorial service.  It will be held at St. Joseph's AME Church on Fayetteville Street at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 31.

Beginning as a protégé of Alexander Rivera, Lawson took photographs of people and events on campus for 50 years.  He succeeded Rivera as fulltime campus photographer in 1992 and retired in 2013.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that people consider a donation in his honor to NCCU Athletics through www.nccu.edu/giveonline or to the American Cancer Society.
