Alumna Demonstrates Excellence In Education

Monique Perry

NCCU alumna Monique Perry, was awarded the 2017 South Carolina Technical Education Association A. Wade Martin Innovator of the Year Award.

The award honors individuals who use innovative approaches to meet needs in the technical education arena and whose achievements impact the South Carolina Technical College System’s statewide economic development efforts and the technical college education offerings.

She is the first African-American woman at York Technical College to receive the award. Perry was nominated for her transformative leadership in innovation in support of the college's enrollment management strategies and mission.

Perry currently serves as York Technical College dean of Enrollment Services. In her current role, she leads the York Technical College Enrollment Services Division.

Previously, she served as the college's director of Strategic Communications and Marketing. Perry also worked as an English professor at the college.

Perry received a bachelor’s degree from NCCU and a master’s degree in strategic communications and leadership from Seton Hall University. She also earned a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Florida.
