NCCU Online Earns Top Ranking


Even before its official launch in 2017, NCCU Online has been consistently top-ranked in offering distance learning education to students. College Choice, an independent online publication for college-bound students, has named North Carolina Central University (NCCU) as one of the top 15 best universities for online education in the state of North Carolina.

NCCU ranked No. 12 out of 25 selected programs in North Carolina. The rankings are based on the following criteria: graduation rates, test scores of incoming students, endowment size, student-faculty ratio, annual tuition costs, average financial aid awarded, student loan debt accrued and projected career salary for graduates.

The university’s online portfolio is part of University of North Carolina Online, which supports nearly 400 degree and certificate programs among the 17 higher education institutions in the UNC system.

NCCU offers online bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in: Counseling (Master of Arts, School of Education); RN-to-BSN (Bachelor of Science, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences); Psychology (Bachelor of Science, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences);  Birth to Kindergarten (Bachelor of Science, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences); Hospitality and Tourism (Bachelor of Science, School of Business); Library and Information Sciences (Master of Science, School of Library and Information Sciences); and Criminal Justice (Bachelor of Science, College of Behavioral and Social Sciences).

NCCU Online is housed in the Division of Extended Studies and offers undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs ranging from criminal justice and education to career and school counseling. Courses available online and in hybrid formats include: Faith-Based and Philanthropic Entrepreneurship; Dietetics; Information Policy and Management; Health Informatics; Security Studies; E-Learning; and Professional Food Service.
