Campus Safety Tips

In order to keep our campus safe and secure, the NCCU Police Department offers the following safety tips.

  • Be alert, observant, and aware of your surrounding and people around you
  • If walking at night, travel in pairs and along familiar routes
  • Walk in well-lit areas
  • Always lock your room door
  • Do not loan your room key or ID card to anyone and report it immediately if you lose either
  • Record the serial number of valuable property.  The NCCU Police Department offers Operation Eagle Identification, where you can mark your valuable property with a specific number.
  • When exiting your vehicle, be sure to lock the doors and conceal valuable items from view
  • Do not prop open residence hall doors or allow unknown persons to follow you into the residence hall
