Alumna Deborah Ally Named to United Way Board

Deborah Ally

Deborah Ally, an NCCU alumna and president of the United Way of Gaston County, has been appointed as a member of the statewide United Way of North Carolina Board of Directors.

Ally says her goals for the board include expanding United Way’s impact on all residents of North Carolina and working to improve citizens’ quality of life.

Prior to joining the United Way of Gaston County in 2009, Ally spent several years working for non-profit agencies in the Miami-Dade County Florida area.

As a community member, Ally is active on the Emergency Food and Shelter Board for Gaston County, in the Piedmont Chapter of The Links Inc. and in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

She also serves on the Novant Health Board of Trustees and chairs the Leadership Committee for Gaston Together.

Ally previously was on the Gaston County Transportation Advisory Board, Novant Health Metro Advisory Board, and the Gaston Wells Fargo Advisory Board.

She obtained a bachelor’s degree in commerce and accounting from North Carolina Central University. She is also a certified public accountant.
