NCCU Operating Under Condition 1 at 1:30 p.m., March 12

Durham County and other counties in central North Carolina are currently under a winter weather advisory. Freezing and frigid temperatures are forecasted.

North Carolina Central University will operate under Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) of the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy on Monday, March 12, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

According to the policy, under Condition 1: Condition 1 is appropriate when an event has significant potential to or is already negatively impacting local area commuting, important campus services, or the efficient functioning of campus buildings and grounds. In this instance, it may be beneficial for the University to permit expanded flexibility for employees to report to work late, leave early, or not report at all, based on their own personal circumstances.

For updates, please monitor the NCCU website (www.nccu.edu) and the university’s official social media accounts (FacebookTwitterInstagram). Notifications will be distributed via email and the Eagle Alert Emergency Notification System and will be posted on 919-530-7220.

If you see anything hazardous, please report it immediately to the NCCU Police Department at 919-530-6106.
