Where do I get technical assistance?

Welcome to the Eagle Technical Assistance Center (ETAC).  We are a proactive unit that provides services desired by students, administration, faculty, and staff while supporting strong team work goals that parallel the mission of NCCU. We are committed to continuing to move forward in the technological arena by creating new and exciting technological avenues for our campus. 

ETAC is the frontline of support for the NCCU Information Technology Services Department.  We use BMC FootPrints Service Desk Management System to track all issues as well as direct issues to the appropriate ITS Team. Having a technical issue or question, let us help you and get IT done!

If you are checking on equipment you’ve dropped off or having issues connecting to the network in your residence hall, call the Eagle Technical Center (ETC) at (919) 530-5038.

If you are experiencing any other technical issues contact the Eagle Technical Assistance Center at (919) 530-7676.

Send an e-mail with your issue to helpdesk@nccu.edu.  Make sure that you include the following items to ensure your issue is resolved in a timely manner:

  • First and Last Name
  • Residential Hall and Room Number
  • Telephone Number
  • Detailed Information about your problem

If you have any of the issues listed below visit the Student Computer Repair Center located on the lower level of the Alfonso Elder Student Union (beside the Campus Post Office).  The Student Computer Repair Center provides the following services:

  • PC/Laptop Check-Ups
  • Free Virus Protection Software
  • Virus/Spyware Removal
  • Network Connectivity/Log-In Support Assistance
  • Hard Drive Reformats/ Operating Systems Reinstalls (students must provide a genuine copy of their Operating System)
  • Hardware/Software Consultations
  • Consultations for the University Laptop Program and Discounted Software Purchases
