How Do I Setup EagleMail with an iPhone or iPod?
  1. Sign into EagleMail (http://mail.eagles.nccu.edu) with your Active Directory user name and password.
  2. Click on the Settings link. If you do not see a "Settings" link, you may have to switch to basic HTML view at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  4. Select Enable IMAP then click on the Save Changes button.
  5. Click on Accounts tab.
  6. Click on the Google Account settings link. You will be redirected to the "Google accounts" page.
  7. Click on the Change password link. You will be redirected to the "Google Apps Password Change" page.
  8. Enter the following information then click on the OK button.
    • Active Directory user name. This is the same username and password to log into computers on campus, checking your e-mail, etc.
    • Active Directory password.
    • Google Apps password you want to use with your Google applications.
    • Retype your new Google Apps password.

      Note: It may take up to 15 minutes for your Google Apps password to take effect.
  9. iPhone or iPod Touch: On your iPhone or iPod touch's Home Screen, tap Settings
  10. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  11. Select Add Account
  12. Select Other
    (Note: If you're running software update 1.1.3 or later, tapping the 'Gmail' icon will automatically configure IMAP. However, archiving and deleting messages will work differently. If you want your Gmail IMAP actions to operate as designed, please continue on to the next step.
  13. Submit the following information:
    • Name: Your Name
    • Address: Your EagleMail Address (Example: johndoe10@eagle.nccu.edu)
    • Password: Your Google Apps Password
    • Description: Your Description for this account
  14. Select IMAP
  15. Incoming Mail Server:
    • Host Name: imap.gmail.com
    • Username: Your EagleMail Address
    • Password: Your Google Apps Password
  16. Outgoing Mail Server:
    • Host Name: smtp.gmail.com
    • User Name: Your EagleMail Address
    • Password: Your Google Apps Password
  17. Select Save
  18. After account has been added, select the EagleMail account on Mail, Contacts, Calendar
  19. Select Advance
  20. On Incoming Settings, make sure:
    • Use SSL: On
    • Authentication: Password
    • Server Port: 993
