Government support is insufficient to the needs of our students or the operations of this university. Unrestricted financial support from private donors to the Annual Fund provides the resources to address the university’s present and most pressing concerns. The Fund offers critical support for need- and merit-based student scholarships and for the purchase of resources for the classroom, laboratory and library. Reaching out to the alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends of the university, the Annual Fund appeal runs from July 1 through June 30.
Unrestricted funds play a vital part in the university’s day-to-day operations. However, you may also designate your Annual Fund gift to a particular purpose — a program, scholarship, school or department of your choice.

Many employers will match employee contributions dollar for dollar. Some even double or triple the value of the employee’s gift to the university. Others match gifts made by retirees or spouses. If your company is not represented in our database, please contact your human resources office to learn about the policy in force at your place of business.
Faculty and staff support expands learning opportunities for students, strengthens academic programs and improves our facilities. NCCU is proud of its employees and grateful for their service in addition to their contributions to the Annual Fund. The SGC is the student-centered giving campaign led by the Student Government Association. Working in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement, the SGC introduces students to the concept of giving back to the university as early as freshman year. The SGC encourages and facilitates students’ long-term philanthropic engagement with NCCU throughout and beyond their years on campus.
A collaborative effort between the NCCU Parents and Family Association and the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Parents’ Fund encourages parents and friends to contribute to the university.
Every year, thousands of Eagles unite during Homecoming to reminisce about their collegiate experiences, see old friends and roommates, and explore the rapid growth and development of the university. During this exciting time, many alumni look forward to presenting NCCU with a class reunion gift to demonstrate their commitment and continued support of their alma mater and the students it currently serves.
The Annual Fund recognizes and celebrates the commitment and dedication of donors who make annual donations of cash, securities, real estate or gifts-in-kind at various levels. Matching gifts may be counted toward a giving level, but they must be received within the same fiscal year. All those who give at the 1910 Circle level or above are considered members of the Shepard Society and invited to an exclusive event during Homecoming.
The seven giving levels range from less than $100 to $10,000 and up.
