Parking on campus is by permit only. All faculty, staff and students who park on campus are required to register their vehicles with the University Police Department, pay a registration fee and display a valid permit on their vehicle. Faculty, staff and student hangtags must be placed on the rearview mirror facing outward at all times the vehicle is parked on campus property. Parking on campus is zoned parking. An NCCU parking permit authorizes parking in specific areas according to the permit designation. Open parking on campus is for visitors only.

An employee may sign up for monthly payroll deductions to pay for his/her decal. Payroll deduction for parking permits will be the same amount each month. For example, the fee for a reserved parking permit is $550; the monthly payroll deduction will be $45.83. Similarly, the fee for a regular parking permit is $450; the monthly payroll deduction will be $37.50.
Employees using the payroll deduction service for payment of parking permits and who leave the university before all payments are deducted should inform the University Police so the deduction can be terminated when the decal is turned in.
Replacement of Permit and/or Hangtags
When a replacement permit is needed, you must contact the University Police Department. A police report must be filed prior to reapplying for a replacement permit. The customer must complete a new vehicle registration form as well. The form should have notification showing that the decal has been exchanged or replaced from one permit number to the current one. There will be a replacement fee of $20 on all lost, stolen or damaged decals. Then the previous decal will be canceled.
Any person found filing a false report will be fined and subject to possible criminal prosecution. Possession of lost, stolen, altered, or illegally purchased permits will result in the loss of parking privileges, a fine and, if appropriate, criminal charges and university disciplinary action.
