On April 26, the larceny of a cell phone occurred off-campus near Merrick and Dupree streets. This case is being investigated by the Durham Police Department. There have been similar cases reported to NCCU Police Department involving three black male suspects in a vehicle approaching victims walking or standing outside of buildings. During these incidents, the suspects asked the victims if they could use his/her cell phone. The victims gave the suspects their phones and the suspects fled from the area with the victims’ phones.

In some cases, the suspects told the victims they were looking for someone in a residence hall and needed to contact the individual. If you come in contact with these suspects, keep your phone and contact NCCU Police Department immediately at 919-530-6106. Please remember to provide the police with as much information as possible, such as the description of the suspects and the vehicle they are driving, including the tag information. NCCU Police Department is investigating these cases.

The suspects are black males.
