What Is an Emergency?

An emergency is any situation that requires immediate police, fire, or medical response to preserve life and/or property.

Call 919-530-6106 (or 6106 from any campus telephone) to report problems such as:

  • fires and explosions
  • chemical spills
  • assault or immediate danger of assault
  • severe injuries or illnesses
  • crimes in progress
  • unusual odors
  • someone choking or drowning

On any campus phone, you need only dial the last four digits of any of the numbers listed.

Police, fire, or medical emergencies, call 919-530-6106

University Police will respond to your call directly and route it to local police, fire, ambulance, and other services.
