Bilateral Agreement

Articulation agreements of associate in applied sciences (AAS) degree programs are called Bilateral Agreements. Under bilateral agreements, NCCU departments have reviewed the community college technical degree program curriculum and have determined which courses would transfer into that major. The review is on a course-by-course bases. In all cases, a grade of C or better is required for transfer consideration. NCCU will determine whether the course will count as general education, major, or elective credit.

North Carolina Central University has established scholarship opportunities for qualified full-time and part-time transfer students (including Distance Education Transfer Students, full-time and part-time) completing the Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.), or Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.)Degree programs from a North Carolina Community College. The North Carolina Central University Community College Transfer Scholarships are offered to North Carolina Community College graduates who received their degree within the past 5 years* and have at least a 2.75 GPA.

Aliyah Parris NSE Student 2010-2011

North Carolina’s rolling hills, cascading mountains, and soothing coastlines convinced Aliyah Parris to explore and discover life in North Carolina through the National Student Exchange (NSE) Program. Aliyah visited North Carolina Central University from St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands), and while, by her own admission, there were some similarities between her life in St. Croix and NCCU, she enjoyed the new opportunities she was able to experience during her stay.

Coming from Minnesota State University at Mankato, William Anyu desired to venture from the Land of 10,000 lakes to Eagle Land at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) with the National Student Exchange (NSE) program, during the 2010-2011 academic year. Willy, as he is affectionately known, made the decision to select NCCU to attend for an academic year. This decision was steered by his desire to experience a historically black institution. He had some familiarity to North Carolina through stories from family and friends who had visited the state, so he felt fully prepared for this undertaking.
