Instructional Lab and Classroom

Classroom

The Center has a ten-computer classroom equipped with a Smart Board, projector, audio and A/V connections.

Instructional Development Lab

The Center's Lab offers PC and Mac computers available for presentation creation, podcast production, basic video editing, PDF scanning, and more.  Faculty and staff may create and produce presentations, instructional materials, overhead transparencies, or other visual aids on their own or with guidance.For a list of software and hardware specifications of the Lab computers, see below. To reserve the classroom, email us. The Instructional Development lab is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you require assistance, email us to set up an appointment. 

TV Studio

The Center has a TV studio with professional lighting, sound, and video equipment. It is a training facility for mass communication students who act as crew members for productions. If you have production ideas, contact Felecia at 530-6803.

• 80 GB hard drive
• DVD reader/CD-RW optical drive

• Audacity (audio editing software)

The scanning workstation includes:

• Canon DR-2580C sheetfed and panel scanner
• Adobe Acrobat Professional 7
• Capture Perfect 3.0

Macs in the Center have the following software installed:

• ProfCast (PowerPoint to podcast software)
• Handbrake (DVD to podcast software)
• iChat
• iTunes
• Garageband
• iMovie
• iPhoto
• Microsoft Office Suite

Limited Macs also have:

• Snapz Pro X (screen recording software)
• Sorenson Squeeze 4.5 (video encoding software)
• Adobe Creative Suite CS3
