The Center offers short-term loans for a variety of equipment to faculty and staff for instructional or professional use.
| Multimedia Carts | |
![]() |
Turn any room into a “smart” classroom. These full-featured carts easily roll into any room and include: an LCD projector, laptop, DVD/VHS player, speakers, internet cable and extension cord. Select carts also include a document camera. If you would like a cart with a document camera, please let us know on the reservation form. |
LCD Projectors |
The LCD projectors are portable and include cables to connect to a laptop. If you need to connect to other video sources, like a VHS or DVD player, let us know. We also have portable projection screens in a variety of sizes. |
| Laptop Computers (PC) | |
The Center’s laptops are available for short-term loans in support of instruction or research. They have the following software installed: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Office 2007, Mozilla Firefox, Apple QuickTime, Apple iTunes and VLC Media Player. |
| Document Cameras (Elmo) | |
| Document cameras are ideal for showing your students something that isn’t on a computer. Place an item (like a book or an object) under the document camera and the image is projected on the wall. From there students can watch as you solve a complex math problem, demonstrate how to properly edit a research paper or anything else. | |
| Pico LCD Projectors | |
These very small projectors are ideal for small groups and quick meetings. (The image size and brightness make them poor choices for traditional classroom use.) We have two models available. Click on the links to see reviews. 3M Mpro 120 | Optoma PK102 |

| Basic Video Recording Kit | |
The basic video recording kit is the easiest way to start recording video. This kit includes an easy-to-use camcorder and a tripod (optional). Also included is software that allows you to make simple edits to your video, burn it onto a disc or upload it to YouTube. NOTE: If you do not have administrative rights on your computer, you’ll need to contact the Helpdesk to install the software on your computer. |
| Advanced Video Recording Kit | |
| The advanced recording kit is similar to the basic kit but allows for higher-quality audio recording. This kit includes a camcorder, tripod and external microphone. | |
Audio Recording If audio is all you need to capture, try one of our audio recording devices. Audio-only recording offers a few advantages over video, such as smaller file size and ease of recording. Audio, combined with PowerPoint slides, is a good way to make your content available outside the classroom. |
| Audio Recording - Zoom H2 | |
| The Zoom H2 audio recorder is our easiest way to record audio without a computer. It records in MP3 format that is easily uploaded into Blackboard. | |
| Audio Recording - iPod Mic | |
| An iPod microphone turns an iPod into an easy, convenient audio recorder. If you are familiar with iPods and iTunes, this will be the easiest solution. If you have your own iPod, you can check out the microphone separately. If not, you can check out an iPod from the Center. | |
| Computer-Based Audio Recording | |
| Computer headsets or USB microphones are good ways to record audio if you have access to a computer. Simply plug these into devices into your computer’s USB port and start recording. These devices can also be used with Skype, Elluminate, Adobe Connect and other web conferencing and VOIP applications. | |

| Portable Sound Kit | |
Our portable sound systems can easily fill a large room with sound. The kit includes an amp, 2 speakers, 2 wired microphones and speaker cables. If you need to connect an iPod or laptop, let us know. For instructions on setting up the portable sound kit, click here. NOTE: The Portable Sound Kit is not recommended for classroom use. If you need audio in your classroom, portable computer speakers or the multimedia cart would work better. NOTE: Despite the name, the Portable Sound Kits are very heavy. Plan on lifting over 50 lbs. to transport the kit. |

| TV Cart | |
