Graphic Design

You're educators, not designers. The Center offers design services for print, web and video to support your research or instruction.

• Graphics for print, video, and web pages
• Digital scanning of 35mm film, slide, and flat art 
• Overhead transparency production 
• Advice and assistance with design of displays and posters for university-related activities

Digital Scanning
The Center can create digital images from slides, negatives, flat art, photographs, pictures from books and magazines, etc. (up to 8 1/2" x 14"). 

Instructional and Non-Instructional Image Scanning
All projects involving scanning are subject to the "Fair Use" provisions of U.S. Copyright Law.

Faculty members who have multiple images to be scanned should contact the staff for an appointment. The staff will provide members of faculty or their assistants with the equipment and training to scan slides, negatives, and prints, and to perform simple manipulation of electronic images. In the event that a faculty member has a limited number of images that require more complex manipulations or optimization, Center staff will assist faculty with this task or offer expert instruction to the faculty member.

Staff will scan and/or manipulate a limited number of images for non-instructional purposes including, but not necessarily limited to, scanning of images for administrators or staff needing to make presentations on campus, etc. We recommend that clients contact us at (919) 530-6218 for time schedules and arrangements.

Users should provide their own disks or other blank media (DVDs, CD-R, USB drives, floppy, etc.) for saving their files.

Printing

The Center is equipped for small quantity printing, specializing in oversized banners.
