Scope of work
The project provides for the advance planning for the installation of a Fire Suppression System (Sprinklers) conforming to NFPA-13 requirements; upgrade of the existing Fire Alarm Control Panel; and integration of the Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm Systems for a 9-story, 85,320 GSF residence hall with 400+/- beds. The building will maintain a minimum of 50% occupancy during construction. All residence halls in the UNC System are required to be fully sprinklered by Fall, 2012. Current available funding is for advance planning only. The selected firm may be retained for full design and construction at the University’s option.
