Facilities Management


The Facilities Management Department (FMD) is under the Division of Administration and Finance. FMD at North Carolina Central University, under the leadership of Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Facilities Management, is responsible for directing all aspects of facilities management and capital projects programs, including providing oversight of master planning, property acquisition/disposition, landscape planning, engineering design, contract development, project construction, renovation planning, energy conservation planning, sustainability policy, Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB) program, and facilities maintenance and operations.

In carrying out these responsibilities, the AVC brings together the efforts of innovative professionals in various units within the department. These individuals are committed to excellence in creating and preserving a physical environment that is conducive to teaching, learning, and research for the entire University community.

FMD provides necessary leadership in all interactions with various state agencies in matters relating to capital projects, assessment of facilities, and property acquisition/disposition.
