Tim Wipperman is Director of the NCCU Veterans Law Clinic and Adjunct Professor of Law. Prof. Wipperman retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of active service. While in the Army, he served in a variety of infantry, airborne, Ranger and Special Forces assignments.

In private practice, Prof. Wipperman was a founding partner and the chief litigator for Wipperman and Stancil, PLLC, where he concentrated his practice in the areas of criminal defense and Veterans Law. He left private practice when he was appointed Director of the NC Division of Veterans Affairs and Assistant Secretary of Administration for Veterans Affairs. In that position he oversaw the operation of 14 district Veterans Service Offices, the State Service Office, four State Veterans Homes, three State Veterans Cemeteries and the NC scholarship program for the children of deceased and disabled Veterans.

Professor Wipperman is admitted to the NC bar, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of NC, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Professor Wipperman is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of the General Counsel to represent Veterans in all VA matters. He also serves as Chair of the Special Initiatives Committee of the NC Bar Association Military and Veterans Law Section.
