Tonya Gerald Goins, Ph.D. is a native of Durham, North Carolina; she is the daughter of Mr. Alexander Gerald and Ms. Maria Whitted. She is a proud graduate of Hillside High School and North Carolina Central University. Her graduate degree is in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine. Currently, she is elated to work at her alma mater as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. One of her research interest is the effects of organic contaminants isolated from various water sources on neurobiology. She is the proud wife of Gregory D. Goins, Ph.D. and proud mother of Daniel J. Gerald.
