Swanita Smith is an Early Childhood Development Practitioner in the Human Sciences Department. While working as an Educator, providing learning experiences to both children and students, she also has served as an Administrator performing administrative duties overseeing operations and functions in the Child Development Laboratory. While currently working towards her Master of Science, Ms. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences. Ms. Smith's ultimate goal is to provide therapeutic goals and direction for young children, families, teens, and adults while fostering in the growth & development and serving the community. It's a joy to see children as they grow and embrace the fundamentals of educational learning. As both a leader and an educator, Ms. Smith strives to provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating learning environment in which the children are able to achieve their fullest potential.
Ms. Smith is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). She holds the certification of being a North Carolina Early Educator Level XI. Ms. Smith also possesses her North Carolina Early Childhood Administration Credential Level III and her North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials I & II.
