Biography:
Sandra C. Jackson, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Disorders at North Carolina Central University. Dr. Jackson has studied the early language development of children with and without disabilities. Early in her career, she received the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Foundations New Investigator Award. Subsequently, she received support from the National Institutes on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health (NIH) to examine childrens early language and literacy development. Dr. Jackson has published articles focusing on childrens development of complex syntax, dialect, and narrative skills. She has presented at national and international conferences.
