Biography:
Dr. Reese-Durham currently serves as an associate professor and graduate coordinator in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She most recently served as an Education Consultant in the Teacher Education section at the Department of Public Instruction and for three years (2003-2006) served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Middle Grades, Secondary and Special Education at Fayetteville State University.

She earned her BS in Elementary Education/Music (University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, TX 1976); M.Ed. Secondary Education/Administration (Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches 1978); and Ph.D. Curriculum and Instruction/ Reading (Texas A&M, College Station, TX 1987). She has also earned 24 hours in Special Education at Fayetteville State University.

From 1999-2003, Dr. Reese-Durham served as the E.V. Wilkins Endowed Chair and Distinguished Professor of Elementary Education at Elizabeth City State University.

Her areas of emphasis include pre-service and in-service teacher ways of knowing and their perceptions of teaching and student learning; reading strategies and methods; teachers as researchers; and university and school collaboration.
