Dr. Jessica Ganao is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at North Carolina Central University. She is also the Director of Graduate Studies
Prior to moving to North Carolina, Dr. Ganao worked in Washington, DC as an intern at
the Urban Institute a nonprofit think tank and then as Senior Analyst at Abt Associates a
for profit think tank, and finally as a Senior Research Analyst with DC?s Child and
Family Services Agency. While in DC, Dr. Ganao was involved in research to include the
national ADAM data set where she audited 11 sites collecting data through out the
country for the National Institute of Justice to analyzing data on local economies in
African villages.
In terms of education, Dr. Ganao received her Ph.D. in 2003 from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI. She received the Master of Science degree from NCCU in 1996, and a Bachelor?s degree was received from the College of Charleston, Charleston, SC in 1992. While at Michigan State and NCCU, Dr. Ganao was involved in research and teaching in many different areas in the criminal justice field to include policing, probation and parole, juvenile program development and evaluation.
Dr. Ganao is currently, working on completing papers for publications and other research activities.
Dr. Ganao is married to Marc-Aurele Ganao-Ngassebe and they have two children.
