Biography

Dr. Jennifer Barrow is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor, and a veteran professional school counselor. Dr. Barrow serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Allied Professions at North Carolina Central University where she heads the School Counseling Program. With over 10 years of professional school counseling experience in rural, urban, and Title 1 public high schools, Dr. BarrowÂ’s research and practice interests focus on the enhancement of school counseling, in particular professional development and role enhancement. Dr. Barrow regularly presents at state, regional and national conferences on a variety of school counseling-based topics including: school counselor collaboration with stakeholders, improvement of the training of counselors, and school-based violence.
