David's primary responsibility is to pass along to his students what he has learned working in the laboratory over the last 25 years. The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department which is housed in the BRITE Institute, has millions of dollars of state of the art laboratory equipment, but a tool is only useful if it is used properly. David's responsibility and the responsibility of his many highly experienced colleagues is to show our students how to properly use that "tool" to give them a distinct advantage in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries job market.
David is interested in the role that our thoughts play in the genesis, development, and healing of disease in the body. The medical community continues to uncover evidence that "toxic thoughts" cause errant gene expression and over-activation of unhealthy metabolic cascades leading eventually to disease and sickness. Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and featured in Nature magazine has recently confirmed these groundbreaking developments.
