Biography:
I am a Virginia native, but have been in North Carolina for 10 years now, and it is just as much home to me as my birth state.
I was blessed with the great fortune of having caring and involved high school teachers, counselors and postsecondary faculty and staff to have the best of experiences in education that one could have. That reality is a big impetus for doing what I do every day.
I am a firm believer in higher education. I have had encouragement and help of the best caliber to get me to this point, so I take my job at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) very seriously. Helping various types of students to see the value in and attain the goal of getting into and finishing college is how I sum up my duties.
This spring will mark my third year as a part of the Eagle family (two years in the Master's program in Counselor Education and one with the Undergraduate Admissions office). I'm enjoying being able to see the positive change and development that has happened over that span, and that which is happening now.
Having exposure is another important facet of a well rounded life and education in my estimation. I love to travel and have been to four countries in the past three years. Learning about the history and culture of various places is of great interest to me especially when food and museums are involved!
